The establishment of Govt. Degree College for women Wapda Town Lahore is a very significant addition by the education department. It is situated on the main road of Wapda Town Block D-2 and its premises comprises of twenty-four kanals. Its foundation stone was laid on 23rd April 2005. After the completion of the building, it was handed over to the education department Government of Punjab on 19th Sept. 2007.

Earlier the students of the said society and the adjacent housing colonies like EDEN GARDEN, PIA HOUSING SOCIETY, CANAL VIEW, VALENCIA, JOHAR TOWN, TECH SOCIETY, PCSIR SOCIETY Etc. had to go to the Model Town College, Wahdat Road College and Gulberg College to get their higher education by facing all the hardships of daily travelling. Thus a dire need was felt to establish a college for the female wards of these areas within the vicinity.

WAPDA TOWN DEGREE COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, Lahore is the realization of this much longed for dream. It first batch was enrolled in the year 2008.

The construction of the college has been made keeping in view and requirements of the new era. It is a double storied building boasting on airy, well ventilated class rooms, laboratories, staff rooms, Principal's room, spacious Library. Wapda Town College has a beautiful campus where, in a disciplined and peaceful atmosphere, education is being provided in all the contemporary disciplines of Science & Arts. Since this institution is in its infancy and is going to hold its 1St admission in 1St year and 3rd year, there is a dire need that its administration should be in strong, reliable and efficient hands.

College has a very well equipped library also, having large number of books of Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Psychology, Political Science, Journalism, Fine Arts, general Knowledge, Current Affairs etc. Many generations to come my benefit from it.

Two Heeno Buses for college have been bought to meet transport requirements of the students.

 A Namaz Room has been designed having a large collection of Holy Quran and Sipaaras. The Principal of the college aims to provide spiritual education to her students.

Thus the college provides a highly congenial and favorable atmosphere to the students to acquire quality education
